Description
The project involved the re-racking of 5 coldrooms with a combined floor area of 2,290m2 constructed using the clad-rack system of construction.
The coldrooms were originally constructed with narrow aisles that were unsuitable for operation as a distribution coldstore. A structural system was designed to change the points of roof and wall support and allowed the existing racking to be progressively dismantled, modified and re-erected. The surplus racking components were incorporated into the new roof support structure, reducing the cost of the new steelwork.
An office and amenities were also constructed.
CGR prepared the concept for the modifications and carried out all structural design. Our staff in Buenos Aires project managed the construction phase by tendering and negotiating contracts for the separate work packages and programming and monitoring the construction works.
