Description
Following the preparation of the master plan in 2006, CGR was commissioned to prepare outline designs and contract documentation to enable the tendering of the construction of the following buildings on a design and construct basis:
- Administration building
- Security building
- Training facility
- Multi-storey car park
- Border Inspection Post
- Customs examination facility
- Sundry support buildings
The scope of performance design undertaken and managed by CGR related to the mechanical and electrical works included:
- Main and sub power distribution, including emergency generator back up facility
- General and emergency lighting
- Power
- Heating and cooling
- Ventilation
- Hot and cold water installations
- Plumbing and sanity ware
- Data and communications
- Assorted security systems (fire alarm, intruder detection, access control)
- Plant control systems
- Lightning protection
- Lifts
CGR was also appointed as CDM co-ordinator for this stage of the redevelopment.
