Description

Tecplata S. A. has developed a new container terminal at the Port of La Plata, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. CGR was commissioned by Tecplata to carry out the design, project management and site supervision of the Main Civil and Electrical Works and the Building Construction Works Contracts for this development.

The project also involves the execution of significant capital dredging works, including the deepening and widening of the existing port approach and access channels and vessel turning basin. These works are being undertaken under a separate contract, which is occurring in parallel with the execution of the onshore civil and electrical works. The total length of the channel to be deepened is 17.5 km and the work includes a turning basin of 450 m diameter.

CGR provided the engineering consultancy services required for the review and assessment of the quality and sufficiency of the available documentation for the tender as well as the preparation of survey contract documentation, tendering and management of the identified additional survey works, including bathymetric survey, side scan sonar, geophysical investigations, topographic survey, geotechnical investigation along the channel and a desk top wreck study.

Following completion of these studies, CGR prepared the contract documents for the dredging works and provided technical support to the Client during the tender negotiations and award of the contract.
