Description

The project included a river bank protection wall and a pontoon and walkway to provide a mooring for a 72 foot, 85 tonne private vessel on the Brisbane River at Hawthorne.

Initially CGR was commissioned to investigate the causes of erosion of the river bank at the property owned by the client.

Subsequently Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned to investigate remedial measures to protect the river bank and to determine the most cost-efficient pontoon layout to meet the client’s requirements. Cullen Grummitt & Roe recommended a gabion and stone-pitched wall to prevent further erosion of the river bank.

Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned to undertake detailed design and documentation, call tenders, obtain authority approvals and provide site supervision and contract administration for the river wall and pontoon.
