Description
A berthing dolphin at a bulk silica sand loading facility was damaged by ship impact. CGR was commissioned to undertake an engineering investigation of the magnitude of the impact and implications of the damage.
The work carried out by Cullen Grummitt & Roe included a geometric and material non-linear analysis of the structure as well as back calculation of the accident berthing parameters. A review of maintenance documentation was also carried out in order to provide comment on contractual obligations.
