Description
Cullen Grummitt & Roe was commissioned to provide planning and design services to convert an existing bulk terminal into a modern container terminal with a capacity of 1.4 million TEU. As part of the commission CGR was responsible for designing the electrical systems for the facility. CGR also prepared the tender documentation, evaluated the tender submissions and was responsible for the project management and site supervision of the works.
The electrical works for the project included:
- Power supply to quay cranes
- 11 kV switch boards, 2x4 MVA transformers and 1x1 MVA transformer
- 40m high lighting masts in the container yards and on the wharf
- Street lights on access roads to container yards and wharf
- Lighting panels
- Power supply for 504 reefer containers utilising compact sub-station
- Retrofitting of 3.3 kV breakers
- Power supply to three 3.3 kV RMGCs
- 3.3 kV switch boards and cabling
- Power supply to administration building and gate complex
- 750 kVA DG sets
- 250 kVA DG sets
