Description

Following international advertisements, CGR together with a local Puerto Rican consultant, was appointed by the Puerto Rico Ports Authority to undertake the design of a major new container and general cargo terminal in San Juan, the main port in the capital of the country.

The site is located on an old US Navy base and there were environmental concerns regarding contamination of the site. The proposed terminal involved a new wharf 800m long and the development of approximately 48.5 ha of terminal yard area.
