Description

Tecplata S.A. is currently developing a new container terminal at the Port of La Plata, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As part of this project, and among other tasks for this client, CGR was commissioned by Tecplata S.A. to prepare the tender documents and manage the tender process for the widening of the Central Dock channel of the Port of La Plata, between chainages km 0.55 and km 1.3496, towards the Ensenada margin, on the river bank opposite the location of the new Tecplata Container Terminal.

CGR carried out a detailed review and assessment of the existing site data, and managed and supervised the required preliminary studies at the site, including topographic and bathymetric surveys and geotechnical investigation.

Following the completion of the preliminary studies, the construction tender documents were prepared under a design and construction scheme, using the FIDIC Yellow Book Conditions of Contract (Spanish Version).

The works to be carried out for the proposed channel widening included:

  • Demolition and removal of existing marine structures
  • Excavation works, dredging works and transitions to the main dredging contract works
  • Shore protection
  • Tangent pile retaining wall, including rear wall, anchors and capping beam
