Description
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), located on the West coast of Maharashtra state in India, plans to expand its facilities to capitalise on the escalating business in container handling. CGR was commissioned by a JV between STFA India Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and MAN Infraconstruction Ltd to assist in the tender submission for design & construct tender packages for the quay and container yards for this project. The scope of development included:
CGR called on its experience with designing the adjacent Gateway Terminals India and Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal to provide a competitive bid in the short tender period.
CGR explored various options for ground improvement from vertical drains and surcharging to deep cement mixing, stone columns and vacuum consolidation in order to achieve a bid compliant with the strict Employer's Requirements.
